A Worthy Digsby Alternative For the MacBack when I was still a Windows user I relied heavily on Digsby as both an instant messaging client and as a good way to check my email. In fact, I relied on it so much myself that when I needed a good email checker for my company after we switched to Google Apps we picked Digsby as our goto application. However, now that I’ve completely given up all Windows computers I can no longer use Digsby as my go-to client.

Now according to Digsby’s website there are technically clients in the works for both Mac and Linux, however after using the product for at least the last 2 and a half years I can tell you an actual release seems about as likely as a Cubs world series championship (I’m from the Northwest side of Chicago and I die-hard Cubs fan, but also a realist).

Analyze Your Site’s Performance With Google Page Speed Online

Google has released a new tool called Page Speed Online to help you analyze and improve your site’s performance. While not as detailed as webpagetest.org it does provide a good idea of where you are and how you can improve. In addition, it is far quicker than the exhaustive tests ran by webpagetest.org. I’m going to experiment with it over the next few weeks and see if it can help me lower the load times of any of my sites.
