These opinions and experience are neither endorsed by nor reflect the policies or opinions of any company or organizations at which Chris is either employed at or otherwise affiliated with. In addition, guest posts are the result of the efforts, thoughts, experience, and/or opinions of their respective authors.

Income Disclosures

I am occasionally paid for reviews of products or services. In these cases I will clearly mark the review as such so as not to confuse any of my readers. In addition, as compensation for these reviews is often in the form of free product as a way to get the product in question to me for a review, any income from such reviews will never sway my opinion of the product in question.

I participate in affiliate programs. Some links on this site, including advertisements in the sidebar, footer, and image popups, are displayed as part of affiliate programs for which I am compensated should a click on the link result in a purchase of the product or service in question. Note that I only use affiliate programs for products and services I currently use or have used myself and can recommend to the public in good faith. Your mileage may vary.

I display advertisements. Any advertisement displayed on this site is used for the purpose of providing enough income to keep this site running. As such I do receive compensation whenever a visitor clicks on an advertisement on this site.

While this site is in no way designed to make me rich, it does have the requirement of being, at a minimum, financially self-sufficient. My efforts to make it so do not however reflect in the opinions I express.

Privacy Policy

I take your privacy seriously. Therefore, the following privacy policy is intended to let you know what information I collect from you and how I use that information.

I analyze log files for the purpose of improving this site via studying the data present. In addition, I use log files to help me find problems with the site that need attention. Log files may contain IP addresses (which may reveal geographic location), browser and operating system information, time on site, internet service provider (ISP), date and time information, and clicks into and out of pages. Under no circumstances do these logs reveal names or other personal information.

I use Google Analytics to analyze site usage and behavior to help me improve this site. This is collected through a piece of JavaScript on each page that you may turn off by disabling JavaScript.

I use cookies like many other websites, to store information to ensure that your experience on my site is more enjoyable. These cookies may track location and other preferences. In addition, 3rd party advertisers and others may use cookies on this site for their own purposes of which I have no control.

I collect other information including the email addresses and possibly names of subscribers, as well as email addresses and and other information pertaining to users contacting me through the various forms on this site. Rest assured I keep this information only to contact you per your request and I will never sell it or offer it to anyone else for any reason. I personally hate spam and therefore I will not subject any of you to it either.

Comments Policy

While I do welcome and encourage comments on posts there is a limit to what I may approve. I reserve the right to delete or simply not approve any comment on any post for any reason. Typically I exercise this right for comments I consider to be hate speech, spam or so far off topic as to confuse any other readers.

Guest Posting Policy

All guest posts must be original content. While I understand the desire to re-post content from your own or another site, posts on Bit51 must appear only on Bit51. In accordance with this policy all guest posts, once published, become the property of Bit51.

Plagiarists will not be tolerated. If you want to post on this site you must do so with your own work. That is, any work that appears on this site and credited to you must in fact be written by you. I will not tolerate stolen content and will permanently ban any user caught plagiarizing the work of others.

Guest posts must focus on the categories found on this site. You may find a list of current categories by hovering your mouse over the “home” button in the menu above.

All guest posts should be at least 500 words in length.

No affiliate links are allowed and all links should be both relative and informative to the topic of the post.

Proofread your posts before submission. Bad grammar and/or spelling will most likely get your post deleted immediately.

Any images or media included require proof to be submitted of their legal right to be posted. In other words, I’ll post your images but I don’t want to get in trouble for accidentally posting a stolen image.

All guest post authors must fill out their bio information. I want to give full credit back to each author and this is one of the best ways I can do so. Links in a guest poster’s bio will be approved or denied on a case-by-case basis.

Finally, I will not post every article sent to me and I reserve the right to refuse any submission for any reason or no reason at all.

Images on this site come from a few sources. Primarily I use Dreamsstime and iStock Photo where I pay for the rights to use many of the images on this site. In other cases, particularly in product reviews, I use logos for products and organizations found on their websites. The Bit51 logo was created by Splattered Ink (who I would highly recommend for any graphics you might need). Finally, where I could, there are a few images I’ve actually managed to create myself.

If you find an image on this site that you feel shouldn’t be here please contact me and I will take care of it.
